Pocket Oatmeal
Marty Martindale

Oatmeal is so cheap and so heart healthy, but the thought of a new, good habit and cooking each morning is out of the question. Additionally, it can bring flack from the children, and everyone has to stop what they’re doing and spoon it from a bowl!

Solution:  Pocket oatmeal! Grab and go oatmeal! Oatmeal that’s  individually wrapped or baked ahead. Even the folks at Quaker say it took them 130 years to get ready-made oatmeal cookies to market.

Quaker Oats ready-made Oatmeal Cookies:  Choose from nutty, fruity or spicy.

Quaker Oats ready-made Cafe Squares:   They have chocolate and nuts.

Quaker Oats ready-made Chewy Granola Bars:  In chocolate or peanut butter.

If you make the time to bake “breakfast fixes” on the weekend, you and the family can be good to go all week. Consider these:

Oatmeal Muffin and Cupcake Recipes:  Find lots of flavor ideas.

You say you don’t eat breakfast? An interesting experiment is to eat a small breakfast for one week, and see if you can recall more energy or maybe a better attitude that week?

About Marty Martindale

Foodsite Magazine and Marty aim to help the cooking-challenged avoid dependence on others due to lack of cooking knowhow. We concentrate on quick breakfasts, portable lunches and “good-4-u” night meals. With readily available web translation, the magazine explains separate foods, a little of their history, their nutrition, suggested “go-withs,” serving ideas and links to foodsites with recipes.
