Why is the former Food Site of the Day now Foodsite Magazine?

FSOD was founded in 2001 when the web was delightfully new and discovering a new food website was very exciting. Thus we carefully squirreled away amazing food sites, archived them and presented new groups of five every week over the years. (see “About” Foodsite Magazine for more about changes we made this past year.)

Our mission statement remains the same:

The history of any country lives on in its food.
From early hunters and gatherers to today’s
magical gourmet e-commerce, we are all on a
wonderful journey learning, tasting and sharing|
new foods and new food combinations.

Now that we are Foodsite Magazine, we will continue to celebrate good foodsites, and additionally, we are running new types of features each week, always looking into new ways food and the web relate to one another.

So far, we’ve looked at:

Cookbook news
Food movie reviews
Foodsites which oppose each other
Wiping out adult cooking illiteracy
Our take on food news
Rare foods and recipes revived
Articles by guest columnists
Unlikely influences on food
Restaurant Trends
Menu highlights from ’round the world
New foods coming our way
Latest in popular ethnic foods

Google analytics tells us our approach attracts greatest number of visitors from Florida, Missouri, California, New York and Texas; worldwide, from the U.S., Canada, the UK, India and the Phillipines. We are closing in on 20,000 visitors per year.

We invite you to bring interesting food news to our attention. We welcome your comments. Simply send them to Editor@FoodsiteMagazine.com.

Those of you who were on our Food Site of the Day reminder list can receive notices again by sending us your email address.
May 2012 be good to you!
